I did a shaker bentwood box making workshop about 10 years ago & the guys who ran it collect their own logs & haul them up to a mill somewhere in northern Michigan to get them sliced like this.
The only way that could be cooler would be if it was steam powered
Interesting machine, very labour intensive veneer stacker though.
Right? one machine doing nearly all of the work but FIVE people to stack the veneer? So much for automation reducing labor cost! Of course they're probably paying $1.25 / hr for all five guys.Originally Posted by Tonyg
