Old John Deere adjustable cultivator plow sweep shanks

One of the local farmers broke 1 of his shank adapters on his 60 year old Jonh Deere cultivator plow the sad thing was half of the pieces that broke off were lost so no chance of welding the old cast iron piece back together for him
I made him a couple of new ones

After dressing and tacking the 4 side pieces together I locked a T bolt to the mill table then used it to hold them at the pivot point to clean up the radial slot

A functional match to the cast original

Weldments. Looks like you made a part that will outlive the plow. Nice slot without a rotary table, and all the fun of the setup doing it that way.

I deformed a length of sq tubing to fit tight over the 4 tacked together pieces to give me enough leverage to have feed control. Worked great
