Here’s a selection of the chisel handles I have finished today, the ones that are taped together are matching pairs. Some of the others were going to be pairs, but didn’t quite match!
These are not for personal use, they will be given away, but I shall fit skew chisels to the pairs, left and right, which are handy for dovetails.
This rosewood was bought in the 1970s for the school where I worked (74 - 2000). we had a bit of a maverick join to teach woodwork. Much to the department head’s distress, he hauled out the rosewood so the first years could practise lap joints! But what was the point of having all this beautiful material? Anyway when the school shut I was given most of the rest of it. I calculate I still have sufficient for another 80 chisel handles. Can’t think what else to use it for.
