    Notes from a newbie

Greetings, Just finished a home made milling spindle for aluminum. It's bolted to a benchtop metal planer which is 100 years old. Time will tell if it works but like so many of us money isn't growing on trees in this below freezing economic climate. My third cousin, a retired Australian engineer, after seeing my device declared I was qualified as a Aussie Bush Mechanic. ( see YouTube...Bush Mechanic) I consider that an honor!
I hope I can find plans or ideas for a cheap, small surface grinder...got a spare x-y table and a large x-y vise. Oh, any ideas on magnetic vines? Q ...a mechanical engineering technologist a long time ago in Nova Scotia, Canada

    Hi Ageofaquarius21,

    Welcome!

Let's see some pics of the new spindle and the vintage planer. Cool stuff!

What's next on your build list?
