I think I am ready to proceed to my first "inside shop" project. All the tools and most of the tooling is in place.
You may notice the California Air Compressor under the lathe bench back in the left corner and the little shop vac also.
The Lathe and Mill sit on the same table with "chip shields" in place. I am sure I will need to improve them. All machines are quiet enough to run in the house with out bothering anyone in another room. Makes about much noise as a sewing machine!. There is a table dedicated for layout and test with my little surface plate and two lamps.
Both the lathe and the mill may share the Kill-A-Watt power monitor so I can keep track of machine loading on these light machines.
Both the lathe and the mill have their own electrical control boxes to indicate power is applied and provide DRO power and a light
plus one extra outlet for another lamp or accessory power if needed.
The bench with the two oak drawer cabinets were made 20 years ago for my "other hobby" use and now are loaded with tools and tooling.
The Oak tool box on the left end is shop made by me again about 20 years ago. The one on the right is an el cheap O.
The upper "door" cabinets are from the home store and were unfinished so I just gave them two coats of clear Watco Danish oil.
The computer organizer was made 20 years ago along with the 12 drawer computer "stuff" storage. There once was a time when most of the drawers contained 5 1/4 and 1.44 mb floppy discs! Now they are full of other stuff!.
The open shelving unit on the left and above the oak drawer cabinets has also been in my hobby room for 20+ years.
Interesting how one's hobby room evolves. Much fun through the years.
Cheers, JR
