hello,
I've been making many of my machines and tools, for over 65 years. First machine I made was a wood lathe, when I was 9. I took apart Dad's meat slicer, for parts. He was mad as heck, until he saw the lathe. He told me I should have asked first, but that I did make a nice lathe.
I came across this site a while back, so I'm joining to see what you are making. I'm retired USAF, and a retired teacher of precision machining and math.
Here are a few of the things I have made. sub-soiler, 6' bush hog, 5' blade, hay hauler, lift, router tables, belt sanders and disc sander, spindle shaper,
24" bandsaw, 12x6 lathe, sheet metal brake, drill press, man-size tool boxes, chopsaw, bench grinders, shop work benches, more trailers than I can remember. lots of small stuff for my machine shop and wood shop. and probably lots of things I have forgot. I was born and raised in the hills of VA, while in the AF I lived in 16 states, Iceland and Germany. I was here in Texas when I retired, so I stayed, been here 38 years. think I will stay awhile longer.
thanks to everyone for sharing your projects.
