Hi,

I started building my own tools when I started Electronics as a boy.

It came in useful in parts of my career, initially as a laboratory scientist, where I was able to build or repair instruments which we could not afford.

Later my work was largely theoretical, but now I am retired, I am catching up with woodworking (originally domestic furniture, now presents for children and grandchildren), and am working to acquire the skills and home made tools (many of which cannot be bought) to build a harpsichord.
