    Hi all

I live in Melbourne Victoria, and I'm in the process of gearing up my workshop as I approach retirement .

I have only recently discovered this great site - part of my daily ritual to scroll through the latest postings.

I have some basic wood work equipment and skills but am looking also to develop the capacity to work with metal.

I would appreciate any advice about what sort of lathe to get ( at my age it will probably be my first and last).

I'm considering a Sieg 3 - would appreciate any input advice suggestions alternatives.

    Cheers
    Mark

Hi Mark - welcome to HomemadeTools.net

Lots of folks here are approaching retirement, so you should fit in nicely.

I would suggest starting a new discussion with your lathe question in the General Tool Talk forum. Here's a link: General Tool Talk
