As a new member I wanted to say hello and let you all know that I appreciate the patience it takes to communicate details with someone over the internet.

To give an idea of where I'm coming from, I must admit to being a retired (16 years) tool & diemaker, but still have a little "hobby" shop at home consisting of a 13x36 lathe, a 9x42 verticle mill, a 6x18 surface grinder & a 17" swing-51/2"stroke floor model drill press, a couple bench grinders & a H.F.carbide tool grinder.
Here lately, it seem the ole retiree is spending more time working on his machines than working with them. In fact, the surface grinder & lathe are down now.

Since this is a homebuilt tools forum, I'll have to study the tutorials to learn how to post some photos of a different kind of ball/radius turner for a lathe. It is capable of being set for a particular precision radius as it uses 4 gears - 3 spur & 1 worm.

best regards & hope to "talk" you all later.

    Hi Amigo,

    Welcome!

Your "hobby" shop sounds like a pretty complete setup to me!

I'm looking forward to seeing those pics of your ball turner. Here's a quick video to illustrate the photo posting process.
