New here but not to homemade

I've been building things all my life, nearly 64 years. It's good to read about what others are building and get more (oh no, as if I didn't have enough) ideas.

Looking forward to sharing some of my ideas too. Actually I already have a tool on this site. It was posted by someone else quite a few years ago after I shared the idea on a homebuilt aircraft forum. See Homemade High-Speed Drill from Blower

    Hi Aaron,

    Welcome!

Nice drill! I'm looking forward to seeing more of your work.

Are you a Zodiac builder? I did an RV-8 years ago and part of a Model 12 Pitts.

    >>>Are you a Zodiac builder?

Yes, I built a 601HD, finished in 2007. Also a KOLB Firestar in 1995 and a KOLB Mark3 in 2009. But quit flying since then and have a hanger full of boats now (all completely redone and trailers too).

Is there a forum section that would include mechanical improvements and gadgets for the home? I just this morning completed a water leak detector that shuts off the pump and sounds an alarm. My neighbor just suffered major loss when a drain backed up and kept the pump running for who knows how long. Of course this particular system only works if you have a well.

    Thanks for the welcome.

    Hi Aaron,

Absolutely! You can post those sorts of non-tool builds in our Homemade Creations subforum.

I've been concentrating less on aviation these last few years, too, and more on motorcycles and race cars. But I'm feeling the pull back toward flying of late…
