Hi Folks
My name is Henty van der Merwe(60), I live in South Africa in a city called Grahamstown in the Eastern Cape. Have decided to join the forum and maybe share with those interested some of my idea's. My hobby is restoring Chev Corvairs and with that comes the need for all kinds of bits and pieces. I like doing things myself and enjoy the challenge of making tools that are too expensive to buy or I want them to work a little differently. My latest project is a home built bead roller with a 500mm deep throat. The need arose as I have to make new floor panels for one of my cars. After endless research and summing up my needs/wants I decided to do it myself. I have a well equipped workshop with milling machine, metal lathe, various welders, metal band saw also have all the usual woodworking machines and hand tools etc etc. I am employed at MBB Consulting Engineers (EC) as a Civil and Structural Project Manager for the last 16 years. I belong to several forums, so once I have found my feet I will post some pictures of what I get up to in my workshop. I look forward to chatting to the guys out there and hopefully makes a contribution to the forum.
