    Neighborhood Shop Guy

Retired, same as you, bad back, same as you, make things out of wood mainly, same as you, raise and breed Irish Wolfhounds, different than you (most likely). Live across the river from a big town in the Pacific Northwest. I'd say I have intermediate skills cause I've been at it for a few years. Recent builds: Swinging cradle, 3 high chairs (oak, bicote, and mixed hardwood), lots of wood toys, workbench, etc.
I have a shed full of scrap hardwoods, be great for intarsia and misc small stuff. If interested come get some or I'll ship it to you for cost. Just want to get my shed back.

Hi Dogwood - welcome to HomemadeTools.net

Sounds like you'll fit right in here. Post some pics of your recent builds if you have 'em; I've got a high-chair age son and I'd be interested in some ideas.

    Hi Dogwood,

    Welcome!

Nope, no wolfhounds here, but you're spot on with the rest of it!

What are you working on at the moment?

Just found out that both my daughter's are going to grant me a 2nd and 3rd grand child. The first one is more fun than imaginable. So, it is Xmas toys. I put together 2 bulldozers (a bit advanced for 2 year old) so I copied a pull toy off the electric picture book (web), grabbed some Black Limba and presto change-o, a rat dog. I'll try and post pics.

If anyone knows how to rotate pics, I could use the help.

Jon, here are some pics of the highchairs I built. I would be happy to help in anyway so let me know if interested.

Haven't figured out the rotate yet. I think you can see the difference between the Oak and the Bocote, the other one is a hodgepodge of leftover pieces from other projects. The Bocote is for Grandma and me, the hodgepodge and Oak fit my daughters' personalities.
