Yep, looks like a well digging project. I have done some mission work in the Caribbean. They make square concrete boxes about 2 ft (60cm) high. Dig a hole. Set one in place. Dig more. Set another. Enlarge the hole so the boxes slide down. Repeat.
Have seen them down over 20ft (6m) deep.
Digging is messy when they hit the aquifer but they have to dig deeper for when the water table drops during the dry season.
Cold as a well digger's a**.
Stupid is forever, ignorance can be fixed.
