It finally became too much of a PITA dragging my grinder or belt/disc sander out of a toolbox so I broke down and built a combo stand to support the two tools so that they're ready to use when I need them. It's made from red steel purlins (free) and a Ford truck wheel (free also - it came off of Satan's Trailer) and it took me just a few hours to throw together. I intentionally made it tall so that I don't have to assume a Hobbit position to use either tool and it's plenty sturdy but not too difficult to move around. I cut it all out yesterday and welded it together this morning before it got too hot. It was a challenge welding the thin purlins to the thick truck wheel so I used a "Texas TIG" technique to stick weld the gaps without blowing through the thin metal and it worked.
It's been a good morning here. These round tuit projects have merit and should be on a higher priority list. And in a few hours I'm going to meet a guy to buy a bass drum kick pedal for $10 which I'm going to convert into a welding current pedal for my Silk Purse TIG welder.
