This is more prevalent than one might think; now their locations make it difficult - power lines, freeway overpasses, general traffic, and availability of open parcels nearby, just for starters.
I recall seeing one move in Los Angeles, no later than early 60's. Easily as large as this 3 story of roughly same architecture. Especially distinctive with the surrounding veranda.
Living on 8th Street in Santa Ana, that home [built 1880's] was saved from demolition by a preservationist, and registered historic. Far, far too many decades, that suburban expansion ate these up. It is one of the few Italianate Victorians remaining in greater area, despite many built.
Current digs modern in comparison, built 1902, but we had to move 1700 miles for it.
