    No a flail would grind the crop into silage. This would have to either be a sickle section mower or have a Blade or blades mounted on vertical spindle/s.

    That was kind of my thought too. He is only cutting on the very right side of the machine. I think the "push blade" is just there to keep the tall crop from spinning away by directing to lay down in a neat row.

    It would be interesting to see what cuts the stems, and what directs then to all fall to the left. And what kind of plant he is cutting.
