miniature Ford 300 inline six engine

Miniature Ford 300 inline 6-cylinder engine, by gbritnell. The builder estimates this is around 1/7th scale.

No CNC used; the builder specifies:

"I was trained as a metal patternmaker and learned to machine all types of shapes so today with the help of my Autocad program I draw the contours that I want and give them numerical points to machine to. Kind of like CNC but by hand."

My metal shop teacher from back in HS had a small four cylinder engine that he built. It was a thing of beauty when it was disassembled. All this before the introduction of any type of automation.

The builder of that engine is George Britnell, one of the most accomplished model engineers we have. Read more about him at his Craftsmanship Museum entry...

Not just engines. I'm particularly astounded by his miniature Mannlicher Schoenaeur rifle...

Details and care for the models, that's an impressive work! I saw in the page a Colt pretty close to the real one
