Mesmerizing water wheel-driven riverside BBQ rotisserie

I can't stop watching this video, and I'm not exactly sure why.

It's not a particularly complex build, and the video is short, but, philosophically, it's complete: fire, river, tool, meat (are those moose ribs? ).

Maybe it's the nostalgia of summer coming to a close. Or ideas on how I would modify the rotisserie for deployment in a variety of rivers: some telescoping legs, a gear reduction system to handle faster-moving waters, a more robust fire grate, a fish basket. Maybe it's an evolutionary drive to want to be near slowly-cooking meat. No idea, but I'm hooked.

Nice work TheXyz on the build and the video.

Interesting rotisserie with a water drive instead of weights, thanks for showing us the video.

It cries out for a chain-lift carrying tiny, thimble-sized buckets of basting up and dumping their contents on the rotating roast. Hey, if you're going to automate, go for the gold.

A bbq go round. Nice way to evenly cook both sides at the same time.
Never try to tell me it can't be done
