    C-bag I got confused and sent a message to Paul Jones in answering your question about the finish on the hatchet handle. Sorry about that I am kinda new at this so hope I did not insult anyone. But to answer your question I use rust-oleum crystal clear enamel and it works for me like nothing else will.

Born and raised in the Central Valley of California. Spent 40yrs being a mechanic on everything from VW air cooled to all farm equipment and general auto. AS in automotive and aircraft. A&P license. Finished up fabricating fruit and veg. packing equipment. Now micro manufacturer of my invention.
