    Me

I am retired (from a lot of things) and enjoy woodworking at the Howard County Bain Center which has a wood shop that is monitored by the Howard County Woodworkers Guild. Got back into woodturning, which I first picked up in high school, a few years ago and started to make other small things though I am planning to make a CD rack (on my 3rd design already, having junked one project because it just looked sloppy. I need to work on clean lines in my joints and am doing so slowly with smaller projects. Haven't got more than a few square feet at home to work so I only glue and sand where my wife won't see or smell me. Looking forward to getting better and learning how to use a router well.

    Hi aaron0641 - welcome to HomemadeTools.net

Sounds like you are enjoying retirement. What are you planning to do once you sharpen your routing skills?

    Hi aaron0641,

    Welcome!

You could always take up composites - your wife would be glad to have the woodworking back!

What's next on your project list?

Don't have long range plans yet. Always looking out for interesting wood at the side of the road to turn and searching for a way to eliminate fine scratched in turned wood without spending a fortune for 'specialty' products. I prefer the feel of wood (even if oiled) unwaxed/unvarnished/unlacquered etc. though I often give in to bet a better result and/or shine.
