Looks like the snakes clearing the road of humans to me.
Why are all the snakes on the road?
Road is probably warm and snakes need to warm up to be active.
They were the ones that were on the plane!

The only time I ever saw many snakes all together, was in northern Minnesota. They were Garter snakes in the spring and mating. There would be one female and minions of males surrounding her. And they were along the edge of a road as well. I suspect that's the same as this video.
