If the car hadn't rolled, he would probably been killed. It looked like he was planning on getting in his car but waited too long. Maybe his name was Bruce Banner, but didn't turn green in time

    The man is a muppet.
Why would you put yourself near a moving lorry?

I believe you answered your own question, before you even asked it.

Apparently there was no accounting for the rear swing of the trailer. He must live in a cave to not know how that works!

For the most part the general 4 wheel driving public has no clue how much room it takes for semi-trucks to maneuver, or stop, or get moving again after stopping.

If it were made a requirement for car drivers to pass a knowledge and practical driving test with their car having to negotiate among moving tractor trailer rigs in order for them to get their driving permit, I dare say 90% of them would fail the first time around with some of them disastrously so

If played on full screen and 1/2 speed, one can line up the license plate and the oil spot on the ground see the car is moving to the right.
Also the car moves closer to the bollard. Otherwise the trailer would have hit the car for sure.
The truck should have gone straight until the trailer was past the car. Unless of course he was driving by x-ray vision or Braille.
His hip will get better, no way the car would have healed itself. The guy saved his car.
