    Making Tower Sander

    Making a Tower Sander

Alot of people has experienced the hazzle of changing drums to sand different diameter curves, either on the drill press or on an oscillating spindle sander.

So I decided to construct a sander with multiple different drum diameters on one shaft, so that there would be no need for interchanging dums.

I figured it had to be compact, easy to use and I wanted it to run off an old powerdrill.

Video in the bottom of the post!!

Unfortunately this site only offers 20 images in each thread, so if you want to read the written article, containing text and multiple images, you can visit my website for more details:

There are even plans/measured drawings available for this if you would like to build it yourself:

I really like the swing away removable tables. While I may not be a huge fan of dedicating a drill motor for a project such as this but that is just a personal preference from a noise and durability stand point

Thank you, I figured it was a benefit powering it with a power drill, as everybody has access to one, an old, a cheapy or a spare one. Yes it is a little loud, but gets the job done. Thanks for commenting

I guess there are many power tools that repurpose to other things RT angle grinders and drill motors are among the most popular.
I have about 10 circular saws laying around that are worthless as a saw any more but the motors are powerful though noisy. I may one day decide I have a use for them as something else besides a saw just haven't found that thing yet
Never try to tell me it can't be done
