    If you had hinges at both ends, you could mount the magnet assembly on the door and it would fold flat. Then you would n't run the outside chance of dinging your leg against the thing sticking out of the wall.

    And you could paint the steel plate you mounted to the wall, or even plaster over it.

    That was my wife's reaction. I showed it to her.
