    magnifier eyepice, homemade

The viewfinder image of digital SLR cameras is smaller than those of analog SLR.
I tried to understand the optical basics and experimented a little bit. Without success. Olympus e-410.

Has somebody experience with a self made magnifier eyepiece?

    Every hint will be welcome.

Wow, talk about forward thinking! I can't help a bit, other than it extends past the Olympus. Seems other digi 35mm's are like that too.

Your Amazon search-fu is weak. Go here...

    https://www.amazon.com/s?k=camera+ey...ref=nb_sb_noss

or, if that doesn't work, go to Amazon and use the search phrase "camera eyepiece magnifier".

    Dear Marvin,
Thank you for your kind attention. Yes, I know of commercial magnifying eyepieces; I even own a 90° angle viewfinder. But as time or efficiency is no issue anymore I enjoy to understand, experiment and optimize. What I have learned in the meantime is that my angle viewfinder has the same 'imaging' properties like a pocket binokulars. I even disassembled one and tried it on the camera - quite good. Now I have to reduce the length from 75 mm to, say, 25. (or should I tease you with inches?)
    Thanks, Ulrich

Weak Amazon search-fu.....f'd up? I avoid it 99% of the time.
Swell, unrelated returns a clowny algorithm fills endless pages with digital verniers or some s**t.

    If it's auto/ vehicular www.rock-auto
If it's any little bit mechanical, www.mcmaster
If it's machining, www.jts or ebay, depending on new or used
If it's material, it's in my shop library
If it's electrical or electronic, www.its_a_toss-up....
Once I find what real people know it as, might paste that in Amazon. All comes down to who made it, lead time, delivery date.
My former aversion to shipping is lessened. Like this weekend, tried to find common crane hardware, shackles, clevises, slip and grab hooks, cross pins for the crane, for a gun tackle rig. There are reliable brands, and unknowns without WLL forged in, no sale.
    Sincerely,

Problem finished - but not solved. I tried /adapted
    - an Olympus Varimagni right angle viewfinder: no sharp image attainable; image laterally inverted, narrow field of view
    - half of a compact binocular (objective convergent - eyepiece divergent): to bulky, narrow field of view
    - Yashica magnifier finder eyepiece: no sharp image attainable, narrow field of view
The main problem is to focus the optics to the focusing screen.
I finally bought a "1.08...1.6x zoom magnifier viewfinder eyepiece": sharp, 'full' field of view; about 18 US$.
