    Magnetic soft jaws

    G'day guys,
my poor milling machine was feeling neglected lately so I gave her a bit of exercise. Not a difficult build but I have needed these jaws for a while.
    Regards stevoh

I see my swarf finding its way between vise and the jaws. But they are very nice and precise.

I made a pair, though not so fancy. The last time I used them, I was holding a tool steel rod to harden the end - I think it was an attempted counter-bore drill. The heat ruined the magnets and I had not made any provision to replace the magnets. (I glued them in with some loctite.) After the fact, it made perfect sense, but I didn't see it coming.
