    Long jack extension blocking

In doing some repairs on my chicken coop I needed to right one of the wire mesh walls at the entrance door
to do this I used one of the old load lock jacks I used to build and to make it long enough I had to fix a 6x6 block and support that so it would be stable. And yes there is so much pressure on the jack it is bowing but it did the job and stayed in place long enough to afix the supports in place

Yeah I thiought about that picture the whole time there was pressure on the jack. until I had the 4x4 brace in place from the back wall to the front.
The whole reason for having to brace the Wall was because last winter there was an accumulation of several inches of wet snow build up on the chicken wire mesh roof that had no lateral supports in 30 feet, it had the mesh screen stretched until it was about four feet from the ground, before I knocked the snow loose

On long house walls, or other building walls we used to use a long spring back board to either push or pull out the discrepancy. Was always amazed at how much you could move things with glorified levers and some nails and a bit of smarts. You had a relatively safe set up there. Nice to see it work out like it should!
