I’m also interested in the winch power. First, using a removable pack is a *really* clever idea!
What did you use for the battery pack receiver? Also, was +12 available directly from the pack?

    Thank you for the post.

My immediate comment is that if you extended the main beam aft about 8 to 10 inches and welded some sort of chain attachment to it (perhaps two or more grab hooks?), placed a length of chain underneath the log, backed the log cart over the log, unhitched the cart from your 4 wheeler and allowed the tongue to rise up in the air, then the short extension would come quite near to the log where the underlying log chain could then be hooked to the extension. At this point, if the tongue is then pulled back down to the hitch, the resultant leverage (X20 or X30??) would then lift the log to the beam without the necessity of relying on the winch and electricity. If you attached a small set of logging tongs to the extension, you could then eliminate the necessity of "fishing" the chain underneath the log which would speed up the whole process considerably. Given the number of logs which you have in the yard, it would seem that could represent as very significant amount of time saved.

    Good Luck!!

    John
