    Locking hold down clamp

    Hi

I made a locking hold down clamp, placed it to my "drilling station".

Have been planning this for a while, made my press for this task.
I need to make ten clamps. After making prototype, i have templates for every part. Making one takes about an hour, or two.

Somewhat similar clamp costs about 42 euros, + postage. So i save 500 euros and get something nice to do for couple evenings.

+ I got reason to make that press.

My intention is to make a set of these, this was first prototype.
Tought that these could be usefull when cutting and grinding with angle grinder... etc

Material is 6mm mild steel, 8mm axle and 8 mm washers.
Swivel is made from M16 bolt, M16 nuts, M24 pipe connection nut and 4mm thick 10/30mm washer.

Cutted 30mm wide piece for arms and handle, then bend them to these shapes.

    Tuomas ,
Your methodical approach to obtaining what you want is a real inspiration. Write a book and put your You Tubes on CD and market to schools as how to solve life. You could retire and build more useful stuff. We ,(society),would also gain useful people . Win-win.

Thank you. I feel its somewhat natural way to go further. I have many projects on the hold atm, waiting possibility to finish them.

I kindf of have decided things that i really want to learn or do, and now i am slowly making them.
Before i can make a metal lathe, i needed to make bending tools, to be able to make that kind of frame that i want...

Btw. I am terrible teacher, we have apprentice system at work, sometimes it feels that i don't even speak same language with my apprentice.
