    loader bucket cutting edge

the cutting edge on the loader bucket of my backhoe has been wore out for years yesterday I managed to break a small chunk out of it instead of just welding the piece back in place I decided to renew it slightly,
I didn't have a new cutting edge and I wouldn't consider spending the amount of money for a new one anyway since I don't use the back hoe commercially
I have a few strips of 3/8" by 4" ASTM 514 T1 steel which is a tough strong grade of steel I've even made poor mans punches and dies out of the stuff in the past by heat treating it to a higher hardness.
Obviously it does not have as much wear resistance as sat AR400 but for what I do it will probably out last me if not I'll replace it again in 10 or 15 years
