Liquid scintillation counter - photos

A much fancier one than what I used back in the day...My first actual-used-in-production computer program was written for an Apple II in the lab to make a bar chart plotting counts over time from samples collected via fraction collector so we could match them up to the (analog!) HPLC traces; we were looking at metabolites of C14 radiolabelled nitrosamine compounds, this had previously been a tedious job by hand...
I also remember quantifying the various compounds in the HPLC traces by cutting out the peaks and weighing the paper...Old School. in a later job we upgraded to an actual detector that mixed scintiallation fluid with the HPLC output directly. LOTS of plumbing to keep staight!
