    Does anyone know why the font for license plates uses a 'Q' that is all-but-impossible to tell from an 'O'?
    That's always boggled me.

    Back in high school our ever enterprising "Science Club" built a vacu-form machine and started selling plastic novelty plates to the other students. Anything respectable you wanted on there, typically their name. White plastic with a choice of colors for the letters. Actually sold pretty well.
