I kept eyeing this ole leaf spring laying in the junk pile and decided it was time to use this for making a pick. Used the natural curve of the spring and sharpened one end of it to a pin point and left the other end to use as it was but sharpened it to a knife edge. I took a pipe and cut it in two, heated it and formed it to fit the axe handle and welded it back together. I had a roll of heat shrink tubing laying around and shrunk it around the handle for a little protection fr om miss hits which I do well at times. This tool probably wont get used much but it makes a good conversation piece just hanging in the shop with all of my other contraptions. My kids will just love me when they go through the junk I leave behind whenever I go to to meet my maker. Maybe there will be a junk yard or two for me to rummage through.Attachment 25122
