make sure when you tighten the rear lead screw support that it is aligned. and watch the screw when you engauge it to see if it moves so you can farther better align it it. I havent decided on just how I will put covers on my 9x20. but I do have central vac system I made to clean my machines fast&easy, it works great. I also need to make way covers. I had made one for the cross slide. it worked for a while but made it by hand and didn't preform as I wanted it to do,I need to go to my brothers and use his box&pan break to make a real one...some day...

This is a very well timed post. I've been trying to make a 3-D printable leadscrew cover for my chinese mini lathe. I wonder if I could print a springy thing like you have here.

Im still thinken about just buy a bellows for mine. but as little as I use either lathe nowdays...the next owner might get to do that after I die.

That would be great if you could, 3d stuff is getting more advanced but figuring out spring tension might be a bit of a hurdle.
