Lathing a cymbal. 2:25 video:
Previously: How cymbals are made - GIF
That's a technique I haven't seen before - a combination of metal spinning (forcing a rotating workpiece against an anvil using pressure) and facing with a shear tool to remove metal while leaving a smooth finish).
Now I'm gonna go spatula some eggs, skillet some bacon and espresso some coffee.
If you can't make it precise make it adjustable.
The video cymbal appears to have been hammer-formed then cut. The texture is unlike any I've seen, surely it has something to do with the tone, plus a embossed band divides center from outer section...
Normally they look to have been spun, on both sides.
