Lathe Tap and Die holders for the Sherline Lathe MT0 tail stock

Drill rod was used for the MT0 arbor. T6061 Aluminum for the barrels.
The first barrel has a hex for what I think is a 10mm metric die. Not sure where I got that one!
The other end of the first barrel has a 5/8" hex die for dies such as Hanson.
The second barrel has only one end prepared for a die. That is for the 3/4" round die.

While making these die holders I thought back to a set that I made for my 7x16 lathe.
Checked out the various adapters for 1" dies round and hex and a set of Irwin tap holders that I had already made.

Well it seems that all I need to use the old adapters was a new MT0 arbor with a shaft to fit the old adapters.
That is what the second .615 arbor is for in the drawing.

Nice job on the mini lathe die holder.
I made one to fit my 11” Logan a few years back. I no longer have the Logan so now the die holder lives on my 7x16 MicroMark.
I chuck up a 3/8” drill blank and the die holder floats on that. I have a coarse knurl grip on the O.D. and the 1” round dies are held in a counterbore with cone point set screws. Works great.
