Quite good Captainleeward, replaceable center to boot!
Offset centers [commercial] I've seen only offer .000 to .025 offset, and they are carbide tipped dead centers. The point carrier sits in a bore, offset from Morse Taper body and clamps in place. Then orientation has to be set horizontal across the ways, it was tedious. Perhaps unintended benefit to correct misaligned center heights, which it could accomplish, IMHO and visualization.
MKlotz's boring tool [post #9, this thread] idea is good too, not applicable to scale of my work, but offers precise adjustment. And center points would be easy to produce and mount.
Sincerely,
Toolmaker51

I use a bell type center drill for turning a taper between centers, seams to work for me, that's all we ever used, they also make a center drill that cuts a radius instead of a 60° angle, can't remember the name of it though, but the bell type is what I use, no need for a ball point live center or dead center
