Found the need/ want for an indexing wheel for my hafco al250g lathe.
Set about making my own using scraps i had laying around.
Made the index wheel on my diy cnc from 4mm aluminium plate. It has 3 rows of holes, 30, 40 and 50 hole which will give me a wide range of divisions which should cover most if not all i would ever need.
If i do need an odd division, i can always make a new plate.
The spindle bore on my lathe is 26mm so i adopted an idea from bicycle head stems in order to fix the index wheel boss to the my spindle bore.
The boss was turned from a piece of 4140 then drilled, threaded and 45° cut to form the locking clamp.
Locating pin was turned from a piece of chromed rod out of an old photocopier and the knob turned and knurled from brass.
Mounting is a bit crude at the moment, im working on another pin but this will do for now. I will have 2 spacer blocks to raise the pin assembly to match outer rings of holes.
