lathe follower rest

Hi everybody for once more!
Sometimes we need to work on our lathe small diameter shaft that when we work on them they bend and we get the wrong diameter of them. For this reason I made a lathe follower rest. In the following video you will see how I made it.

I have that exact same model Le Blond lathe and for a while now I have been thinking about making a follow steady for it. I may make a variant of yours for mine, but good job, I would put the locking screws on the opposite side though away from the chuck less chance of crashing into them

I think it is better to have it close to the chuck for better support of
the shaft

What I was talking about were the 2 socket head screws on the sides, having them on the side nearest the chuck means you have to stop rotation before you can safely adjust them or even re tighten should they become loose or as the brass buttons show some wear. Putting them on the opposite side does not change the relationship of the support screws it simply gets your hand out from between the chuck and the follow steady.
