Looks a bit makeshift but if it works! "Necessity is the mother of invention". My late brother would have called it "Redneck engineering" but he also cut out a joist and a hole in his living room subfloor to lower a new "big screen" Mitsubishi TV he bought secretly, into the basement (While his wife was at work). She didn't get angry but the carpet was loose so she made him replace that. Then she said the carpet didn't match the curtains so he replaced those. Then the furniture didn't match the carpet or drapes so he had to replace that! She was a smart woman! Maybe this guy is bucking for a new lathe?
