    Hi JR
I have come up with a design to fit my little Myford ML10 lathe and once built I will share it on here. I have drawn up the proposed design for the chuck. I think it will work. (Fingers crossed). I have tried to make it as quick as possible to load and unload and to achieve this I have incorporated a quick release mechanism on the chuck. This is mainly due to the amount of rivets I need to thread. Checked the boiler drawing today and it is 62 1/4" dia. x 1" copper rivets threaded 40 TPI so worth going down the lantern chuck route as I will also have it for future projects.

I like the idea of the quick change addition. My version is slow especially when you have 60+ units to complete.
    Cheers, JR

    Hi JR
Started the lantern build this afternoon it is coming along and hope to have it finished by the end of next the week. I have ordered an Aluminium hand wheel which I hope will be delivered Wednesday, this week so I can get it finished. The quick release design seems to work so far. Thank you again for posting your chuck design it has been very useful in my build.

Very good. I think I see how the quick change will work. Great idea.

I like your Myford...Nice sturdy lathe.

    Cheers, JR

    Hi JR
All bits are now made, just waiting on the aluminium machine handle to come in the post. Once here can fit and test to see if it works as I want it too. Will do a full post when completed.
