    Knurling tool

    Hi once again,

I bought a three in one push type knurling tool and soon discovered it was meant for larger lathes so made this using the wheels and pins.

When I accidently bought some straight knurls the wrong size figured out how to mount them without making another tool.

I've discovered that if you start a knurl and the pattern isn't even then by holding the bottom wheel with your finger, loosen clamp and just turn the top wheel a smidge fixes the alignment. Is this a common technique?

Durst I answer... There is a doctorial dissertation on my website and probably more than you want to know but after a month of bad knurls it sent me on a journey I shared. Also my Knurl Calculator is now available here as a $5 donation to HMT, OR you can download an App for it, but can't remember the name of it, Paul found it. It's about Wheel diameter and Pitch and material size having an Integer ratio, ie., 1:1, 1:2...

Nice job on the scissor type build.

    Cheers,
    PJ
