    Knife Bevel Grinding Jig

This is a knife bevel grinding jig that I made for my 2x72 belt grinder. It is adjustable. It is made from (2) 1/4" sheets of aluminum. The front plate is drilled and tapped to hold knifes in different orientations. The angle is set with 2 wing nuts that jam against the rear vertical.

Very nice. I've had quite a few old hand knife makers tell me OH I never just a grinding jig I can match grind a set of knives before you can set up a jig, those contraptions are for beginners. then the next time I visit one he has a set of 8 knives that he is making for someone and he si standing there grinding away with a blade locked in a jig. OH WELL this is a production run and I wanted to make sure that they were all exactly alike and I don't have a lot of time to spend on them.
    DUH!

Nice build mr95gst! The vertical pallet gives you plenty of places to lock your work down. Really nice Plunge line and relief! Thanks for sharing.

Nice jig, knive and grinder. Did you also make the grinder? I like the "main frame" design of it, it looks bulletproof. I started building one myself off plans. The plans call for a tilting grinder but idk if I would ever really use the tilting part. May try to redesign the main frame of mine sorta how yours is.

Yes, I made the grinder too. If you click my account, you can find a thread on it. Mine doesnt tilt, but I wish it did. I mainly make knives with it and there are a lot of times that having a horizontal grinder and table would be best. I was going to convert mine to tilt but ultimately decided that it would be better for me to have a separate machine. Otherwise, I would be constantly flipping back and forth to clean things up. My grinder currently has a small wheel attachment too, but I am too lazy to swap it over. I end up using a spindle sander since it is easier to switch machines than it is to switch attachments.
