Probably going to start with a foundry and forge for myself. I have things to cast and things to forge. I have a feeling I will be helping someone build a foot powered helve hammer, too. My most immediate requirement is to cast an intake manifold for a motorcycle I am building.

Has anybody built the machine tools from the Gingery series of books?

    Hi LeeRoy,

Welcome - glad to have you here!

I think you'll find that the Gingery books are quite popular. What sort of bike is that intake manifold meant to fit?

That's good to know, I have a feeling I will have a lot of questions. The intake is for a Virago 700, with a 38mm Dellorto tickler carb.

It currently has about 3' of the original frame tubing left, not counting the neck. Gooseneck backbone, and a girder front end are in the works, too. Its Konged to within an inch of its life, 20" seat height. I have to get some pics and post it in a couple of places.
