John Deere 44 ft plow axle repair

its Friday evening A cotton farmer calls around 6PM says my plow axle broke can you help me.
Bring it to me I say.
it's 7:30 before they can get the part removed and to my shop.
Since he needed to wait on it while I cut out the old broken pipe and welded in the new one there is only a single picture of it
In the background to the upper right you can see half of the broken tube which was common 3"sch 80 pipe 3-1/2" OD
I didn't have any. so I used an old piece of 3.010 ID 3.5" OD DOM tubing with a 3" OD 2.5" ID hydraulic cyl tubing sleeved inside the end result was stronger and thicker that original There is no torque on it only weight when a cylinder is attached to push the axle down raising the plow. No time to paint it since he had to drive 40 miles back to the field and install it that night so he could be ready to work before the sun comes up

Never try to tell me it can't be done
When I have to paint I use KBS products

What you're saying is that you made it stronger and better than before. Which is what every farmer needs!

    Well done!
