70 old engineer in metallurgy, retired. My skill was steelmaking.
I have a small toolshed equipped with a Schaublin 120 metal lathe, a large colon boring machine, a self-made horizontal milling machine, several grinders, an arc welder and a spot resistance welder. Also many mechanician handtools and precision measuring instruments...
My pleasure is to make complementary equipments from scrap.
I search ideas to make other equipments.
I live in the vicinity of LIEGE City in Belgium in the French speaking area.
Very near my house is the famous "Ardennes American Cimetary" where 5300 American soldiers are buried. Every day we hear the music played each hour in memory thereof.
I apologize for my poor English.
What is my present work in toolmaking?
You know that we cannot use cutting disks thourougly because of the diameter of the flanges of the grinding machines. So, I am making a special mandrel with a smaller diameter to further use my stock of partially used disk. It is designed to equip a fix motor. I intend to add a translation and a vice to hold the piece to be cut...
Yesterday I made the major part of the mandrel, but I could not work in my shed to day!
i'll keep you informed,
Jacquesmjr
