I'm an older enthusiast with a variety of interests from cars and motorcycles to amateur machining, metal fabrication, upholstery etc. My shop contains a variety of equipment such as a Dean and Smith 13x30 lathe built in 1958, a Holbrook Minor lathe that I converted to frequency drive, Bridgeport milling machine, Swedish metal shaper, Jones and Shipman drill sharpener circa 1940's, Brown and Sharpes surface grinder, metal cutting bandsaw, Miller syncro tig welder, english wheel, powered bead roller, combination metal brake and press, Bedford 10" bench lathe etc. As you can see I have the equipment to do almost any type of metal project and have taught myself to operate all of them to an amateurs level. Over the years I have restored and repaired a number of cars and motorcycles. I have scratch built a replica of a 1930's Morgan three wheeler using a Moto Guzzi drive train for power, a replica of a Lotus 15 race car from the 1950's. This car is built using 1"x1" square stainless steel tubing and uses an Oldsmobile 215ci aluminum V8 engine and an Alfa Romeo Alfetta transmission and trans-axle. Current projects are a 1977 Datsun 280Z re-build, a full restoration of a 1972 Moto Guzzi V7 Sport and a restoration of a 1920's Singer Class 7 sewing machine. I have been following this website for a number of years and have made a number of copies of tools and ideas I have found on this site. A future project I am very interested in building (if I live long enough) is a tilting three wheel motorcycle and in this regard I would love to correspond with others that may share this same interest. I will post some pictures of some projects I have done when I figure out how to do it.
