    Those would be better if they were case with a vertical hole through the and an indentation in each end to match up with the holes then rebar could be driven down through them to help with vertical stabilization for taller walls

    A good idea nevertheless. Maybe there are T shaped ones to allow for building columns to be constructed with spacing appropriate for the height.

    You would want to get the first course perfectly level too, as the likelihood of the wall not being vertical increases greatly as height increases. That appears to be a major disadvantage for this type of construction.
