The handpiece is simply supporting the induction coil, and the control/s for the induction power supply (box in the background) - I often see the induction coils and supplies coming up on the asian sites (aliexpress/ etc) for around $40-80 per set, and in a number of power ranges. Did not know they could be used "side on" - I thought the coild had to encompass the thing being heated.
This opens a few options for other uses.
