The question is how did he go about slowing down? if he allowed himself to slip out of the envelope or the slipstream created by the fairing the air turbulence would have been horrific.

But he would have slowed down... REALLY fast!

Haha I loved the Cajun Cook, he was awesome to watch and a huge influence on me as a cook as well. my favorite was his greeting at the start of the show "I'm happy for you to see me"

    Why would it "horrific"?

    He's only going 100 kph.

I ski way faster than that on a regular basis.

I'm guessing you mean on snow, Just a little difference when you tumble in deep snow as opposed to spilling on ice once he slips out of the calm air of the inside of the canopy there is going to be a high amount of turbulence He may keep his balance and slow down or he may not. It is the may not that is going to hurt, Figure staters have wound up with broken bones at a lot lower speed than that from their skates hitting a cut in the ice.
There is only 1 thing snow and ice is good for, spring melt to fill the streams and lakes, yeah, well there are some who like to use ice in tea

"tumble in deep snow"? Bad guess..

The "snow" we downhill on is as hard as ice/concrete, has ruts, bumps, rises and dips...fall while skating on ice at high speed and you slide on the flat surface until you stop....nothing "horrific" about it.

I guess you can tell I would never do either willingly. can't understand why people would even want to. Had to take winter survival training in 73 was forced to do several distance shoe and ski treks to qualify. haven't been on a pair of skis since Nov 73 plan on it being another 49 years before I do it again
